How do I land on the Island for the Idaten Boots Quest?

If I could get there, I could take it from there. But It's been stopping me from starting, I've tried peicing stories, and all that stuff. It has drove me crazy, and all I need is a starting point that can help me get to where I need to go.

Yeah. I've heard that, but the map has a lot of no walk water. Or is there a special path?
