Would you ever like to be able to have one of you pshop maps or apartment maps be changed to something you created?
It is possible for a DM to insert it and make sure it applies to you.
I know there are security problems, easily solved:
The map has to be accepted by a reputable source.
Any ideas?
What sort of qualifications would this reputable source have to meet?
What sort of testing scheme would the submitted have to undergo before it can be accepted?
At the moment, the only way one could add a map to the server is if they had direct or shell access to the server. So, it's more then just "in game" security, there is overall network and server security to consider.
Even map makers/developers have to get their submissions approved before they can be submitted.
If there is something you want to see in your maps, it's possible everyone would want it - why not look at submitting a change/adding a new map with teh features you want in place? Keep in mind that asking for unlimited cheesburger creators will not go over well
Could there maybe be a list of 'safe' items?
Things that aren't overpowered or particularly valuable so that any map that contains only those items, and has a total map value less than x gold would be automatically acceptable?
I am thinking of things like:
tables
chairs
wall
carpet
doors
magic_mouths
chess pieces
etc
And excluding things like:
teleporters
creators
destructors
cauldrons
glowing crystals
Some sort of automated way (such as a script) would be necessary to check the maps to make sure it falls within this price range and other (or restricted) items are not in the map.

Ok since im the clueless guy who has done no scripting etc, I will keep this brief, as far as I know from reading the comments, your saying check the maps automatically for prices..well what stops a person from making an artifact? How is a new artifact assigned values? I can see chairs as already being equal to lets say 3 gold. But I know its possible to walk into an area, pick up an artifact and have it cost 0 gold, for the sake that it is undroppable or something of the like.
That is the reason that a list of allowable items is wanted. An artifact with stupid powers wouldn't be on the list, so it would have to be checked manually. Remember that what is wanted is to be able to automatically /accept/ maps, but not neccessarily to automatically /reject/ them.
