Discussion on new dragon focus and other aspects

Perhaps adding the title, magic dragon, would work. many have magic reisit of 70, yet no title change. Will ask devs.

currently titles are based off of level's of focus and resistances - so you would need a magic focus before you could be a magic dragon

Excellent idea - once you complete all other foci have a special magic focus made optional. Then you complete a quest to get magic elemental's residude and become a magic dragon.

wow, proper use of latin pluralisation, I can't recall the last time I saw that. Even the people who insist on using viri normally mis-spell with 2 i's at the end....

now to wait for an American to attempt to correct my spelling of 'pluralisation'.....

How many levels should the quest be and what diffuculty?
ie, for a level 100+ player, a few dozen levels down in a cave to get it?

From a symmetry and style point of view, I think it would have to be 4 quests, one for each of the basic essences. Ideally they would be all different and fitting their base element

I am thinking;
dark cave with lots of cold damage for the cold quest
lava/magma/ hell type enviroment for the fire
sneak in to heavily guarded fortress and kill someone for poison
race between x locations in less than y time (along a route that is guarded triv.) for lightning

However my own dragon is still low level, far to much so to need quests like this anytime soon.

I think just making magic dragon the only special quest, because it hasn't been ever implemented/used, and people are used to just buying their foci.
Not to mention that foo the (Big|ancient|legendary) magic dragon is a special title, it stands out.

Take in mind it should also be possible to find an element for low lvl dragons!

And a lvl 100+ quest wont be very usefull either, for you wont ever become a magic dragon that way... (iirc your title represents the focus you gained most lvls)

Exactly - the only way we can actually make it work is to add an entire other foci to the dragon (not so good, as getting all your foci done takes a lot of levels) or adding some sort of a special quest that could bestow the title of magic dragon. At this point I think it's just more of something I've always joked about then a real idea - at least I'm not convinced of it's viability yet - feel free to change my mind!
