singing

Post by Mith »

make singing more effective:

if you sing hard, monsters die due to interferention in their brains, hearts, liver and/or kidney.

if you're a real good singer, you can even break their bones with your voice.

this will make everyone not just train singing, but they will even train singing hard

no... if you're a bad singer, monsters should get furious :)

It's just the volume that counts. everything > 200 dB results in immediately dead of monsters :)
(dont ask me why this wont affect the player :P)

Irregardless, the two more or less go hand in hand, and end up to the same effect.

The proposition would kinda turn singing into an offencive spell while atm it is supposed to to quiet down monsters. I can't see peace and friendly intentions going well together with
interferention in their brains, hearts, liver and/or kidney
:P

However the idea itself is very intresting, perhaps there should be a different attack type: psy, with a bunch of new mental spells dealing psychic energy or just psy damage. Imagine squeezing the monsters brain with the power of your thoughts! Or maybe this should be a separate class, say you get bonus to your psy spells with high int and low wis.

If nothing else it is an interesting way to seperate out some of the misc spells.

Make charm monster a psi spell, it certainly belongs there more than in summoning, also have pacify, paralyse etc.

At the same time, since new skills are being added, have a necromancy skill, wherein is found spells reanimate corpse (takes a marked corpse and turns it into a living pet)
fuse creature (take a pile of organs and play frankenstein with them)
command undead (triv)
raise dead (take skeletons and vampires from the summon pet monster list, add zombies).

hmm, maybe sorcery could go altogether then, steambolt change to pyromancy, magic bullet/missile & colour spray to evocation, town portal to summoning, identify and detect magic to psionic?

This might not even break characters too much, assign xp based on the number of moved spells to each class & the number of those spells which are attuned/repelled/denied
