How to kill a demilich?

Post by jan »

How do I kill demiliches? They seem to be +100 for anything. Does banishment work?

Physical damage works, though it is quite annoying to catch them with it, banishment "does" but even a level 100+ banishment takes multiple shots, and control undead works as well.

Level 33 prayer seems to get them every time.

Depends on the map.

If the demilich is out in the open or has some way to move around, try to block them in with earthwalls then send in a summoned avatar or elemental (success will vary from elemental type and avatar).

If they are already in an enclosed room, it makes using the summoned golems (golem, avatar, elemental, etc.) a little easier. It helps to have acess to x-ray so you can hopefully observe from a safe distance.

If you try to attack with melee be prepared for their ice based spells and their drain, depletion and disease attack. You'll also need to be prepared for the demilich immunities when selecting your weapon or attack type (via level and focus for some races).

If you are able to attack from a distance or range spells, I can only think of a very few spells that will be effective in this case. Most of them or prayers such as holy word, holy orb, banishment (more effective if you follow Gaea, too).

Basically, if you are going to attack a demilich yourself - have a good defense. If you are going to attack from far away - make sure you are using the right, or at least effective, spell(s).

Fire spells always work, but if at all needed, use meteor swarm. Instant undead kill,
almost gaurentee.

If you have the meteor swarm spell, i think you can kill dozens of demi lichs without any problem.

For a relatively low level, i would agree with Leaf, adding that a water elemental is a very good choice (i used it myself when i was low level and it worked fine). Xrays are needed.

If you are Devourers, your avatar will desobey you and won't hit the lich, but you have the face of death spell... that kills almost all undeads ! (it seems that undead are not immune to death... strange.)

makes sense, because if they are _un_dead, they still can be "killed" by anything, including death itself.

I tried banishment on the one thta is found under Scorn, somewhere in an inaccessible corner, and it worked fine! Great!

Now I just need to find out how to kill dreads. BTW - I notice I have become a 'regular' rather than 'luser'; what happened?

Your forum title is just based on how many posts you have - if you get enough, you can be a Forum Junkie like leaf :-)

Dreads are vulnerable to banishment of Gaea, and/or a high enough physical attack.

The system ?i think? for titles o the forum work like this:
luser <= 49 posts
Regular >= 50 posts
Junior Member >= 100 posts
and so on and so forth.
