For some weird reason I can't login to the game anymore. I use to work fine but it's not working now. When it asks me for my name and password, after I type the password it just asks again "Please enter your name" without any message like "Invaid Password" or anything else. It doesn't seem to be a server ploblem because this happens in all the servers I have tired. I am running the Windows GTK snapshot at Sourceforge. I've also tried creating a new account but I have the same trouble. Has anybody got any idea why this is happening and how I can fix it?
Thanks

I have found out that it is something to do with the client. I downloaded the SDL version and that logged in it was quite laggy for me. The weird thing is that I've used the same CVS client before at sourceforge and it worked last time and I've tried changing all the options and everything. Well anyway I'll give it a shot and thanks for the reply Woo.

I'm using windows, but it doesn't work here. I have tried 1.6 and 1.7 and snapshot.. None work. Do I have to download the maps? It works on the other computer of mine, I know that. But not on this one, and my brother is often on the other computer. I *THINK* I downloaded the maps on that one, but not this one (I think). If so, I can't find where to download the maps at, though I've searched around.woo wrote:Yeah, that is odd that it worked before and not now. The 1.7 GTK is fine for windows though, give that a shot.

Try getitng various versions of windows client from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... e_id=99311
To the best of my knowledge 1.7.0 works fine, I have not tried the latest snapshot yet.

I confirmed the issue, and also found a workout. Checked the code, couldn't figure what's wrong, i'll test a few things.
During that time, here's how to correctly login : enter your name in the dialog box, and your password in the *command line* (as a regular command, just like that), bypassing the dialog. It worked on a WinXP setup.
Side note, i don't have any issue with Windows 2000, another weird thing
