As far as I know you can't kill the firegod with weapons. And you should not be able to use attack spells to kill it. At least that's how it was planned by Peter Mardahl who created the map.
So if you're able to kill it like that it's probably a bug.

I killed it twice @ crossfire.jyu.fi yesterday.. and I'm disappointed. It was just too easy.
