How do you delete a character?

In the GTK+ client - File > Quit character
From the game command line - 'quit
e-mail: poof \a\t eracc \d\o\t com

Login the character and then type 'quit
And follow the instructions.
Or, login the character and click on File -> Quit Character
And follow the instructions.
