item +'s borked?

I'm not entirely sure EXACTLY how item +'s work, but in the past they have seemed to affect your AC, esp. related to armor. Currently, <armor> = <armor +(whatever)>.

I'm still curious how the +'s affect player stats for items/weaps/etc., but I'm fairly sure that right now, for armor, they are not functioning correctly. : (

A little experimentation:
Base AC is 3, base armour is 0.
`create gloves identified 1
`create gloves identified 1 magic 1
`create gloves identified 1 magic 2
In other words, three sets of gloves (armour +1), one of them +1 and one of them +2.
All of them grant +1 armour and no other modifiers - at least, none visible.
I haven't checked out weapons yet, though, nor the code; it's possible that it just doesn't show the bonuses in the client.

the magic plusses of an item affect them in different ways depending on the item, in the case of armor (and based on my own observations) it does increase your ac only if the item already has an ac (iirc bracers are an exception), i cant recall exactly how weapons did it (long since i'm playing only dragons/fireborns), but i think they worked in some way alike armor, affecting only ac or wc if the weapon had some plus to it already.

So, my purchase of gloves +2 (armour +1) was a waste of cash compared to normal gloves?

Well not a complete waste I guess.As far as i know the marksmanship gloves cannot be enchanted so if you use +2 gloves to craft them you get +2 marks and thus a wc bonus of +6.Maybe you should make them +5...You would get wc+9 this way.Then just use the woodsman skill and the recipe for marksmanship gloves,and violá.You got Marksmanship gloves+5 which you can't buy and which give +9 wc.
