On my XP home edition system:
To get the client running I had to copy all the folders from the GTK 2.0 library to the client folder. Then I also had to copy the contents of the GTK lib folder up one step in the hierachry to the client folder.
Why? I dont know, I wouldn't understand the code even if you flogged me for a month.
Well, it does fix (for some people). But it's a dirty hack
So i'd rather find the correct registry key to set to make everything work nicely. Note that copying is a pain, specially when you'll have to upgrade gtk...
I know! Let's make it a contest. The one that figures out the right registry key to put in wins a Beelzebubs sword.
Just kidding.
If I come up with something useful I'll tell you all, but I think not in this case.
Anyway Ryo has done a great job for all us using Windows. Crossfire is a addictively fun game and I was very glad to find it was done for the platform I use.
I hope I didn't upset someone....
Maybe I am blind or something but I cant find a maintainer for the Win version. Or is it that the code is so portable that there's no need for it?
Anyway it seemes to me that it's easier to get the client and server running under Win than it is to get it in the right place to run......or something.
