There already is the crossfire-devel mailinglist and the sourceforge bug tracker.
Maybe it is okay to make this an easy way to report bugs and discuss about bugs, but will
it replace the other systems? If not, who will keep them in sync?

An interesting question.
I think this indeed does have a purpose for at least two reasons:
- Sourceforge bugtracker is unknown by most people;
- The crossfire-devel mailing list is mostly known by coders; ordinary players usually do not know about it and tend to ignore it, even if they know it can be used to report bugs.
On the other hand, a forum is considered more 'visible' than a mailing list or a bugtracker by non-developers. So I think it has an interest in the sense it is a step towards a more 'user-friendly' communication with players.

Yeah, but I think quite a lot of bugs shouldn't be so 'visible'. Bugs than can be exploited are generally not a good idea to make public. Though I hope than most players are fair enough not to exploit them, those who do can be very annoying. People crashing the server on purpose are a nuisance for the other players who might be in a dangerous situation, just dropped an important artifact because they wanted to show it to somebody else... I guess most of you have been in such a situation already.
Therefore I think those who do know how to use the bugtracker on Sourceforge should make use of it. I moved those bugs that were reported here to the bugtracker but I won't keep on doing this.
