Unless the feature allows player(s) to side step in established, in-game mechanics for greater gain - then it is an exploit.

I would say it's an exploit of the current summoned pets system and/or experience system.
I suppose one way to reduce this is, for each monster killed in a particular map, the player gets a cumlative -1% experience for each kill.
Monster 1 = 100%, Monster 2 = 99%, Monster 3 = 98%
I'm not sure of the coding requirements for this (or the resource consumption)
