Character reset?
Yesterday I started playing crossfire, and got my character to level 4,but today when I tried to get on,my character wasn't there!I forgot which server it was on,but I tried all of the servers, and they all make me create a new character! What do I do?Do characters always reset every day?

Tough to troubleshoot without knowing which server you encountered this on...
Did you login using the same character name?
The names are case sensitive.
Did you use the 'quit command at all?
This will delete your character on the server.
Did you do anything that would cause the server admin and or DM to delete your character?
AFAIK, characters do not reset under normal conditions. Abnormal conditions may include playerfile restores from backup, hardware failure, permission issues on the server, etc.

This is what I did...
when I was done playing,I went to a bed to reality and applied.when it said "what would you like to do?play again or Quit",I clicked quit, then closed window...I hadn't done anything that would get a dm mad,not to my knowledge at least...and the only thing I remember about the server I was on,besides snotpuppy, was that it didn't have lampposts in town, and it had a south wall directly south of the undead church.

If it helps any, there is currently no player with the name "snotpuppy" on metalforge.real-time.com or crossfire.metalforge.net servers.Klarh wrote:Aww,I still can't find it,all I remember is a helpful person's name(snotpuppy),if I could contact him he could tell me...but maybe my character is on one of those first 2 servers in the list that just say 1.5.0 or whatever as the name?I dunno...
It could also be possible that you played on a server that is no longer in the metaserver list although most likely you've just forgotten/mistyped the character name.
The case sensitivity is a quite problematic (impostors for example) if you ask me. In my very humble opinion character names should be converted to lowercase and only displayed with first letter as capital (or in the form the user wrote it in the first place). Comments?

Yeah, that'd be nice...I just wish I could find that server,BTW,there were 17 when I was plaing first, last I checked there were 16...knowing my luck, that one that isn't there is the one that my char was on...*sigh*hoxu wrote: The case sensitivity is a quite problematic (impostors for example) if you ask me.
