Picture this: You're all the way in Japan Town and you want to get home to Scorn for free. You disconnect your client without using a savebed and make a sandwich, when you come back you've been transported home with no penalty.
Suggestion: After 30 minutes of AFK (meaning NO input), a player experiences a "cave-in" which kills you and send you to a death map. If a player logs out without using a savebed they will always log back in to find themselves in death having taken the same penalty as if they had used the 'suicide' command.
Even if you choose not to make a death map AT LEAST have 30 consecutive minutes of AFK trigger an auto suicide in the form of a 'cave in'. Players will understand what is going on and all it's doing is keeping them moving.
Now you may be thinking "This doesn't actually solve the problem because players could just swallow the exp cost and still return home", I think it's important that this doesn't remain a blatant oversight and really this is all it would take for players to say 'oh ok, I get it'.

It is not clear to me what answering Yes or No is saying. So, I have not yet cast a vote.
Frankly, I do not agree with changing this behavior by default. Make it a per server option? Sure.
As someone who is still on ADSL and occasionally experiences outages longer than 30 minutes that are out of my control, I want the system to stay as it is. Our last internet outage here lasted almost 24 hours. Unfortunately I have no other options for internet at this location ... yet. However, even when we do finally get some competition out here, in the form of a new fiber network that has been announced, I still would advocate keeping this behavior. I'm not the only person on the planet with crappy internet service I am quite certain.
