I decided to play some Crossfire on the Metalforge server (to make sure things worked on my end, since I had just rerun the configure script). I was in the process of refilling my food on goblins and orcs when my client froze. I couldn't move, I couldn't run commands that communicated with the server. The client itself still operated, I could change keybindings and client configuration and other local stuff. I checked my Internet connection, and found it was still operational (surprisingly). I eventually used the disconnect option in the client and reconnected. I could then use the client fully again. This told me the server itself didn't go down, either. The actual map area would be drawn when I had other windows from the client open (e.g. the skills window), but would show the exact same frame as when it had stopped updating. If I closed those windows and minimized the client, the drawn map would not be redrawn.
I need to see if I can reproduce this issue before I can say for sure it is a bug, but I thought I would make note of this in case other people are having the same issue.
As I was writing this post, lines of text would suddenly turn white for no known reason, so I'm thinking its probably something to do with my computer.

Trunk client froze on Metalforge
That SilverNexus guy? You needn't worry about him.
He is level negative 4 in oratory, and his singing is worse.

Much has changed recently and continues to change with the current Crossfire GTK client.
It is certainly possible that a recent change or an upcoming change will make the current client incompatible with the Metalforge server (which is still running v1.12, released approximately 4 years ago.)
Please continue to test and post your findings.
Thank you,
