Quiver of Holding Throwing Weapons won't hold throwing stuff

Post by SilverNexus »

I purchased a quiver of Holding Throwing Weapons in Santo Dominion on my private trunk server (1.70.0-r18315). When I tried to put throwing weapons in the quiver (e.g. spear, throwing dagger), it said "You can put only throwing into the quiver of Holding Throwing Weapons (open) (active)."

Unless I'm mistaken, throwing weapons are such things as throwing daggers and spears. The quiver, however, disagrees.

You should be able to put a spear in a throwing container.

Can you ensure you are using the trunk archetypes? After switching you need from the server to do

Code: Select all

cd lib && make collect && make install
(this assumes arch is a subdirectory of lib, but since that's the standard setup, it should be ok :))

According to svn, I am using the trunk archetypes, r18315.

I ran collect.pl before compiling the server, so that should be right as well.

Yet, the spears don't go into the quiver.

The name quiver of Holding Throwing Weapons is misleading as it is, if it only holds spears. It really should be a quiver of Holding Spears.

There was indeed a bug, fixed in revision 18335 (trunk) :)

Ah, so in the last twelve hours, then. I updated this morning to 1.70.0-r18315.

Good to know; I'll have to update then.

I'm not sure, but I think the throwing daggers and throwing stars I tried to put in the quiver disappeared without a trace after I left my apartment. I know they disappeared, I'm just not sure if those were the ones I tried to put in the quiver or not. Was this an issue resolved as well?

The fixed issue is about throwing items in quiver, not disappearing ones :)

It could be due to how you killed the server, things like that...

I haven't had it happen since. The new revisions actually let items be put into the quiver, and it seems to have solved both problems.

I didn't even kill the server in the duration between when I last saw the items and they disappeared. Nothing other than some throwing weapons disappeared, either. I think a part of the server thought I had put the items in the quiver, while another said I didn't, so the server compromised by putting the items both in the quiver and not at the same time, thus making them disappear.

Whatever the case, it seems to be gone now.

To help ensure items, items status and player status is saved by the server, use the command: 'save

The game should automatically save on a regular basis, but I don't know what that time interval is.

I know the server autosaves every ten minutes.

Thanks for the 'save tip, I should use it from time to time.

Sorry for the long delay: our internet went out for several consecutive days.
