Editing and creating maps

Post by RovinRogue »

Hey Guys,

when I use the cfmapeditor (java one) I have been unable to figure out how the heck to find exiting items - as in look at the properties of a specific item which already exits in CF - such as a Stormbringer or Chaos Sword. I am just beggining to create my own maps but as far as putting in rewards such as say Ruggilli's Tail of Many Lashings - I can't find the durn thing to put into the map...

I only grabbed the precompiled one - I have not tried dl-ing the arch files - is this what I need to do or am I just a clueless map-newb?

The first thing is to find the correct archetype in the editor's folders.
Then you can put the item on the map, and if necessary customize it (change attacktypes, damage, whatever).
Now I don't know if Stormbringer is a special archetype, or a customized existing sword.

but isn't the Ruggilli's Tail of Many Lashings supposed to be a gift from the god, given on the altar when praying? If that's the case, you are not supposed to put it on a map, even if there's a corresponding archetype. Would unbalance game. (Why not a book with spells availabale only to gaea's priest then?)

The spoiler for the Scorn "title" quest reports that it is one of the items you need to find in order to complete one of the quests (baron I think) - the item exists somewhere (Rugilli's tail of many lashings)

also by the folders in the editor - do you mean an actual folder or one built into the editor?

Actually, it's Ruggilli's Whisker +15 which looks similar to a spear. The Tail of Many Lashings is a whip and only available to worshippers of Ruggilli.

AFAIK, the Whisker is unique to that map only - so I would check there.
