I've encountered a couple bugs with boulders. The 300 kg rocks that you can pick up. I got some from the upstairs map of West Scorn Trade Market in Scorn. I had intended to use them to level throwing (I figured the bigger, the better).
1) On several occasions, when I thawed out an ice cube from West Scorn Trade Market weighting 315 kg (1 boulder), 615 kg (2 boulders), 915 kg (3 boulders), 1215 kg (4 boulders) ... the boulders just vanished when the ice melted. Once they appeared on a map I had been on previously, the other times, just into thin air (or thin pixels, as the case may be).
In the case of the previous map, I had done the thawing in my apartment, in one of the pocket reality rooms. After the vanishing, I went into the main apartment room, to find the ice cube, containing the boulder, back in the pile where I had originally dropped them upon first entering my apartment.
2) In conjunction with this, sometimes I could pick up more than my weight allowance of boulders from a freshly thawed out pile. I once had 5015/4500 weight this way until I dropped the offending boulders.
3) I decided to take a few boulders with me to level throwing. Threw them at zombies; collected their corpses too. Eventually I got too heavy for the boulders I brought with me, due to the zombie corpses. I grabbed whatever boulders I still could, along with the corpses, and returned to my apartment, whereupon I dropped the boulders and corpses into a pile ("drop all" command keybinding). I then went back for my remaining boulders, got them, and returned to my apartment.
Now comes the bug part. The pile was gone. Vanished. The boulders and zombie corpses that I just had placed back in my apartment were disappeared. There was no server crash. No rollback. Just a vanished pile; the boulders and corpses.
=======
Not sure if this is part of the problem, but I use the save command (keybinding) a lot these days, ever since I discovered the lack of sync in data saves between apartment maps and player inventory.
