death and stat points

Post by ravensclaw »

When my character dies I lose 2 random stat points as well as some XP.

How can you get the stat points back? XP I can handle, but losing stat points suxs big time.

Generally speaking Are there ways to boost your stat points?

I died in beginner dungeon 2 twice. Both times to centipedes that seem to multiply like crazy and have now infested the building. Will that dungeon ever reset? As soon as I enter now I die.

Cheers

Drink a potion life - which can be found in shops, as random treasure or other players may have them for sale or for trade.

Details on what all the different names for potions of life can be found in this posting:

Many items (rings, armour, bracers, etc.) can raise stats. So can certain potions (potion of strength, potion of charisma, et al.)

All dungeon maps reset after 2-hours (in RL time) of inactivity.

Most maps will reset automatically if nobody enters them for 2 hours. The beginners dungeon resets after only 5 minutes (if nobody enters).

Unfortunately, most beginners do not know how and when to wait for the maps to reset, so they usually enter that map to take a look and then get killed by the centipedes waiting near the door. Once the centipedes are released, they multiply and they tend to stick close to the door and kill all weak victims who try to enter that map.

If that ever happens to you again, it would be a good idea to mention (in a chat) the presence of the centipedes so that other players are aware of the danger. Low-level players can then avoid that place until the map resets, and maybe you will get help from high-level players who could kill the centipedes easily.

Did you read the linked post?

What potion you need depends on what level you are.

A single potion of life of the appropriate level will restore ALL of your stat points. The number lost doesn't matter.
Questions are asked not out of stupidity, but because there is information that is either not understood or not known.

Personally, I prefer the bank box system and equipment loss to having to drink a stat potions.

Complete newbies can also make a character with one hit point and get killed by a swinging door in the newbie tutorial area lol.
