Questions about enchanting stuff

Post by axxe »

OK, I've tried to find this online and in the forum, but no solid answers:

1) Can I further enchant armor and weapons that already have enchantments? By this I mean specifically those which aren't player created, rather found in the world such as Prowess Dragon Mail and the Defender sword?

2) To enchant a weapon (IMPROVE STATS), I only have to cast the PREPARE WEAPON one time, with the proper amount of diamonds as sacrifice, regardless of how many times I'd like to enchant the weapon down the road, right?

3) If I can't enchant already found items, say I want to do like a zorn scimitar or whatever, could it be +10 wis, +10 power? I mean, if my level is high enough and I have enough diamonds (Diamonds in this case would need to be 400 right? 20x20?

4) To verify, if I'm level 80, the max I could enchant armor to is +8, level /10, is this correct? And for that, I just need the enchant scrolls, no sacrifice or anything else, just mark the armor and apply the scroll, right?

5) For weapons, it would be 5 enchantments, +1 for every 5 levels, or in my case 5 + (80/5) = 21 total enchantments. So, if I donated enough diamonds, and had enough potions, I could have a +10 wis, +10 pow, +1 con weapon, correct?

6) Finally, it isn't clear; do I need to be standing on an altar for any of this, or I can do it on the fly?

7) Ok, really finally, can I do multiple weapon enchantments at once, or just one at a time?

Thanks in advance - Axxe

Some armour can be enchanted with Enchant Armour scrolls, it is mostly hit or miss though.

As for enchanting existing "magical" weapons (Defender, Holy Avenger, et al.) - using the scrolls (i.e., Improve Strength, Lower Weapon weight, etc.) will not work. Those enchantments are for 0 stat weapons which become "super" weapons for/by the player.

Right. 1 (one) prepare weapon scroll will let you enchant the weapon as long as the necessary materials (scrolls, potions) are available. Only one application of Prepare Weapon is needed, per weapon, for the "life" of the character|server|weapon.

To make a +10 wis, +10 pow weapon - you would need to use 400 diamonds with the Prepare Weapon scroll. Then you would need 10 scrolls of Improve Wisdom and Improve Power in addition to 92 permanent stat potions of Wis, and 92 permanent potions of Pow.

This is a server side setting. Or, the max enchantment for armour is controlled in the server settings. Typically it maxes out at +5 at level 50.

Correct, Just mark the armour and apply the scroll.

That would be the number of enchantments that you can apply to a weapon, but keep in mind item power will also change.

You are confusing Enchantments and Blessing.

Blessed weapons are created by praying on an altar.

Enchanted weapons are created by players. This can be done anywhere.

One at a time, because you can only read 1 scroll at a time.
