GTK client refreshes inventory too much, unresponsive

Post by Mental Mouse »

When lighting a bunch of ice cubes, I find that the client seems to be stacking refreshes and doing them belatedly, leading to a sense of items being yanked out from under my mouse pointer. Also, when dealing with large piles of objects, it seems to get so caught up in repeated "updates" that it can't be bothered responding to my clicks.

What version of the client are you using?

What version of GTK+ Runtime Environment are you using?

I'm on Ubuntu, using GTK client "1.10build1". libgtk2.0 is version 2.12.9-3ubuntu4.

Okay, I thought this was on Windows.

I presume this is the client from the Ubuntu software repository?

Or, was it compiled from source?

From the repository....

And boy. am I glad I don't have to compile everything myself anymore....

(But I could be convinced to try it with a newer version of CF, if I had a sense what the differences in the new version are, and I wouldn't have to blow away this character.....)
