Pickup menu doesn't track mode, Binding doesn't replace bind

The NewPickup menu seems not always to pick up the current mode (and is clumsy anyway, ought to be a dialog with checkboxes).

The Binding dialog doesn't replace bindings when you bind something else to the same key -- it just adds a new, apparently nonfunctional, binding.
