Client crash

Post by Mental Mouse »

When my dwarf warrior character tried to read a book of holy word, I got the "bong" sound, but then the client crashed. When I tried to restart, the client crashed immediately after "Welcome back". This was initially the GTK client, but the X11 client likewise crashed on login.

What happens if you try to login with a different or new character, does the client crash as well?

In fact, I was able to recover by coming back with another character. Later, I crashed again while applying a bed of reality, but that one wasn't "sticky" -- when I came back, things worked apparently normally.

Can you provide some background information on your client and server setup?

Looks like you are using some sort of *nix variant for the client.

What about the server?

Thanks.

Local server and GTK client (that is, same machine), on Ubuntu.

Edited: Client and Server are V1.10, which I now see is current. I don't know where I got that idea about 1.17.

In any case, it's still crashing pretty often, though now I consistently get back by simply reconnecting, even when it crashed while I was off in a dungeon.
