Fireborn Guide

Post by Leaf »

We currently have a guide to playing the Dragon race located at:

http://crossfire.real-time.com/guides/c ... agons.html

It would appear that the Fireborn race is also very popular.

Anyone have any hints or tips for playing this race?

Please note that your suggestions will probably end up on the Crossfire website at some point.

  • - Make sure you throw dice until you get high INT and POW.
    - When choosing class, make sure you note benefits of Evoker and Monk.
    - Use the crystal from the very beginning; it makes you able to kill foes stronger than yourself.
    - Avoid direct contact with your enemies.
    - Take full advantage of the fact that your character is fire and poison resistant.
    - Physical weakness is the most annoying drawback with fireborns; counter that by learning summoning spells, dancing sword or similar spells that enable you to break doors etc.
    - On higher levels, elementals can be your best friends - they may enable you to kill dangerous foes from a safe place.

When you chose your God, remember that the fireborn can neither wear weapons nor armor.
And also don't forget that you can wear 4 rings and 2 amulets instead of only 2 rings and 1 amulet as the other characters.

I really REALLY wish Fireborns could wear girdles... since they're kind of a round ball with stubby bits anyway - and this should prevent the girdles from falling off so....

just wishing on a star :D

otherwise I think they rule :D

I actually got one to level up his physical skill and now I can do 14 dammage - not really very usefull but it does help with doors... And I can kill beholders and skulls :)

I moved over the listed suggestions to the Crossfire website.

http://crossfire.real-time.com/guides/c ... eborn.html

If there is anything else to add, please post it here in this forum or on the wiki ( http://crossfire.freezope.org/wiki/cros ... layerGuide ) and I'll take care of the migration.

Also, if anyone is interested on what kind of information the Fireborn guide should include, check out the Dragon Guide at:

http://crossfire.real-time.com/guides/c ... agons.html

Thanks!

I haven't looked too deep into the server setting either - is there simply a tad or flag that I can change on my server to allow FB to wear girdles and such?

You would just have to add the appropriate body part to the fireborn player archetype.

- of course this means maintaining and collecting custom arches...
