Hiding Skill Exploit

OK this may not be the biggest exploit in the world, but it's a way of getting infinite XP given time and little effort.

I got the Hiding skill and while trying to figure out how to get XP stumbled over an exploitable bug. If you are in an area that hiding last longer, such as a mountains, and walk into an impassible mountain over and over you gain xp really fast. In my case as a dragon using levitation and hiding, I got to 2000 from around 100 xp in a little over a minute.

Is this a major exploit, not really. If a new player were to start with hiding they could get up to a decent level without fighting. Since no classes that I know of start with this skill I don't think it's a huge deal, but wanted to report it.

Well, depends on how ones defines 'decent level'.

I know that the exp gained in that doesn't increase with level, so at your rate of 1900 exp per minute, here's the time it takes to get from level 1 to a certain level (using the MF exp chart):
level 2: 1 minute 3 seconds
level 3: 2 minutes 6 seconds
level 4: 4 minutes 12 seconds
level 5: 8 minutes 24 seconds
level 6: 16 minutes 48 seconds
level 7: 33 minutes 36 seconds
level 8: 67 minutes 12 seconds
level 50: 27 days 0 hours 14 minutes 44 seconds

So as you can see, the amount of time it takes to gain a few levels increases very rapidly. The problem isn't just that it's an easy to automate way to get levels, but also that there's not faster way to get levels in it as one's level in it increases. Thus, it's an easy trick to in an automated way gain 10 or possibly even 20 levels in one skill, however it's also too difficult to level otherwise and hence not bothered to be leveled normally.

Personally, I believe the whole setup with this and similar skills needs to be redone, perhaps make hiding along with the skills that one never gets exp in, and perhaps in the long term future make a better distinction between skills that do and don't level.
