libpng13.dll

Post by Tai »

I just updated my old 1.7 Win32 GTK client to the newest version, and I get a prompt telling me I am missing libpng13.dll, and the client closes when I confirm the prompt.

I am not sure if this is something that should have been packaged with the client and for some reason wasn't, but I was able to find it easily enough here:

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-f ... l?libpng13

So for anyone else who experiences this same problem just download the said .dll and drop it in the main 'Crossfire GTK Client' folder.

I hope this is able to help.

I'm the guy who packaged the Windows version, and lemme tell you it's a real mess with DLLs & versions & such :)

GTK2 is starting to get close to usable easily, but there still are libraries issues now and then...

This is why I didn't include any library, supposedly everything is included with GTK (ok, I do include some SDL libraries...)

The client runs now, and I can play the game, but in Scorn, and other areas, alot of the images are glitched. I dunno what the deal is, or why they are glitched, however, it is still playable functionally, it's just really confusing as far as the tiles and images.

Glitched as in seeing..

Several ?'s all over the place?

Ghost images of structures and buildings?

Stacking issues with images?

Or, something else?

Also, what version of Windows are you using?
