Not empty...

The player files still have their contents, glancing through them I couldn't see anything obviously wrong.

Correction: *both* my characters are zapped!

My other character, which was not logged in at the crash, is *also* "gone", but I was able to create a new character which has persisted so far...

Sever crash, character inaccessible

When I ventured into Hell for the first time in a while, my server crashed around level 4... when I restarted it and tried to connect, it asked me to repeat my password... as per new character generation. I can see that the player file still exists, but it's not at all clear what do do to reset its ...

Tables making change...

I'm not so sure that everything should make change, but the public-utility tables could be more convenient. Also, we want to careful about producing, say, seven-figure piles of silver. As a related annoyance, there really should be a clearer distinction between magical "service" altars and real ...

Updating tables...

I'd say that when updating tables to take money in general, it would be worth making sure they don't take a denomination greater than their basic price.

OK, I dropped the message onto sourceforge, but...

The mailing-list link in the "Bugs" forum yields the following:

Trouble with scripting...

OK, I'm starting to get into scripting, and I've been finding some major lacks. In particular, there are several things the client itself can do fine, that scripts apparently can't do. Has this been addressed in the trunk line of development? (And when are you guys going to release what you've got ...

Weaponless WC depends on last weapon wielded....

So far, I've noted that two-handed weapons (firebrand and staves) leave it set to 2, daggers to 0 (the wielded WC is the same minus the weapon plus).

Wielded Bows set the WC to 5 regardless of plus, and leave it at 5 when unwielded.

PS: It's remarkably difficult not to spell my favorite bow as the ...

Alchemy re-write

If I actually went in and did that, how would I politely submit that for general review? (I wouldn't want to shove my initial re-write straight into the code-base!)

I would probably want to introduce a few new ingredients while I was at it, such as water of amethyst (but then amethysts would have ...

I think the problem with the less generous method (increase difficult) is that it tended to make lots of recipes too tough. As a real life example, increasing the size of a recipe 10 times really isn't that much difficult (it is somewhat more difficult). IIRC, the amount of exp rewarded is also ...
