As an aside, what distro are you using?

There is a bug in compilation for SDL on GTK that you have to build specially.
And the SDL client for unix, if built, will not work, it crashes without any real backtrace, and the prebuilt ones also kick the bucket. I think the SDL Client needs to be dumped and restarted.

Why not just add a /ignore or something like that to the client to allow people to well ignore others on the chat/shout channel(s)?

btw, this problem isn't a memory leak, that is another problem and I am also working on solving that problem.

The sound problem that makes the gtk client crash has been fixed in my branch of the client.

If you aren't running debian, you can use alien to convert the .deb to .rpm or build from the cvs branch.
