properties of potions, balms and figurines

Hi,

the spoiler describes nearly everything: weapons, magic, monsters, alchemy....

But one thing is missing: What is it that these potions, balms and figurines DO?

OK, some are self-explanatory, like a potion of strength, wisdom, etc.
But what about e.g. a figurine of clay? Or a balm of travelling?

How can I find out (other than through trying out the expensive stuff I fought so hard for)?

Regards

Oliver

Figurines tend to summon a creature of the same type, i.e. clay figurine would summon a clay golem.

Balms are something that you rup on you - so a balm of traveling would act like a word of recall ( I believe, never used one)

Hi woo,

And thanks for the explanation.

That's my point. How do you find out without trying it out. Some of the stuff is rare, at least expensive.
And then it might happen that I am in the wrong place to try it out.
E.g. if I stood over my bed and tried out the balm of travelling it might not tell me much. Provided that it is a word of recall.
Is there another way to find out?

Best regards

I understand exactly what you mean - and I'm not aware of another method besides asking people. Perhaps we should look into adding descriptions of these items to the library? Or making a library for this sort of information?

Hi Woo,

Meanwhile I found some definitions in the file /usr/share/games/crossfire/artifacts.
I don't know whether these are complete, but at least it would be a good start. Adding these descritpions in clear text to the spoiler section would certainly help newcomers (such as me).
I guess, now that I proposed this I just volunteered myself to do it ;-)

How can I submit a document with this info?

Best regards

Oliver

You would probably want to ask leaf - he's the big guy around here.
You can send him a Private Message on the board - but chances are he'll read this thread shortly.
