How do I level up summoning now? My pet uses wands and missile weapons. It never works!

if you are a high enough level (5 or 6 I think) then charm monster is your friend. map
invoke charm monster; killpets
to a keybinding
then jam it often whilst near monsters (ideally ones that won't kill you if you fail to charm them immediatly....)

Leech three glowing crystals from the gem tunnel. charge them up, and then use a golem spell. The crystals are in case your golem dies quicker than you can recharge sp. Before party XP was changed, people were able to leech summoning xp. Apparently it doesn't work now.

afaik you still share summoning xp if in a party, it's only the charm given summoning xp that does not seem to be shared, intentional or not, that I am unsure of.
