Hi,

My brother and I were playing a game over LAN (he says we have the latest crossfire version for windows). I was playing a Human Paladin, who prayed at the Altar of Devourers. Now, having read the manual, I am supposed to have gained resistances... but yet, when I check them (using the resistances command), all but my physical are +0.

In addition to that, I am supposed to have immunity to diseases, yet I keep managing to infect myself with the flu.

This is all very strange and I would appreciate any assistance.

Did you use the following command while standing directly on top of the altar?

'use_skill praying


Did you see the following text after praying on the altar?

You are bathed in Devourers's aura.
Your lifeforce drains away!
Your vision is better in the dark.
You feel much less healthy!
You feel your digestion slowing down.
You pray over the Altar of Devourers

When you type 'skills, does it show that you are worshipping Devourers?

Yes that is why I am confused, because I did see all those messages.

One last thing, you should see the following changes to your resistances after you switch to Devourers..

physical +0
magic +0
fire -5
electricity +0
cold +15
confusion +0
acid +0
drain +100
weapon magic +0
ghost hit +50
poison +30
slow +0
paralyze +0
turn undead +0
fear +100
cancellation +0
deplete +100
death +100
chaos +0
counterspell +0
god power +0
holy word +0
blind +0
life stealing +0
disease +0

As for being infected with the flu, we still need to make sure that you have successfully become a Devourer's worshipper.

Can you confirm what you are seeing with the 'skill command?

It should look something like this:

You can handle 5 weapon improvements.
You worship Devourers.
Your equipped item power is 0 out of 1

All my resistances (except for the physical and the magical when I pray) show +0.

I used the skills command and it says "You worship Devourers." amongst other things.

Uh-oh.. looks like a bug with the Windows server and/or client then..

Can you check and see if this happens with any other of the gods/cults on your server?

Can you also find out which server version this is happening on?

Ex:
crossfire-server-2004-11-29.exe
crossfire-server-2004-09-26.exe
crossfire-server-2004-09-12.exe

And so on..
