Where's the dark forest?

The description given in the map summaries doesn't seem to fit the world map - unless I am supposed to go all the way to Navar, where the road goes north.
The map summaries page (or spoiler..) is for the small world map.
IIRC, the dark forest isn't all that far from navar. It's not readily visible from the road. Look for land features that are either for a swamp or dying terrain(?).
It's much easier to find during the day. Definately need a good light source if you are searching at night.
