In particular, I have been summoning pet monsters, and they have been angels (the black thingies) for the past 4 or 5 levels.. In the beginning my pets would varry every 2 levels, but not they have been the same.. Angles waren't bad early on, but now they are not enough to take on the things I'd like to take on.

My other summoning spells are somewhat useless, so pet monsters is probably the best spell, as I can summong more than 1 at a time, my mana regenerates, and I don't have to control them.. but.. if I'm stuck with angels for a LONG time, since summoning levels are not so easy to make, I may just have to switch to playing something else (which I really don't want to do!)

Please help/info?

search magic shops and book shops, and even the alchemy shop sometimes has a summoning book. The GOLEMS or ELEMENTALS are stronger than pets, so search for the highest level UP to your summoning level, and learn to control it, and what is weak against it. This is a way to level easier, but it requires effort to control your summon. Angels are good against demons... get a rod of dimension door (or a spell of it) and go to Navar Gorokh temble, d-door inside the west gate thingy, and burst through the crack in the wall... Go east, and you'll see stairs down. Search around here-At the southern end is a portal. Enter here, and flip all the switches, or just find out which one is correct, and have your summon angels spell ready! There are demons that come at you now, which your angels kill easily, as demons are weak towards holy power (such as BANISHMENT OF VALRIEL! w00t go valriel )

Targetknight, you may not have noticed but this thread is old, nine months old in fact. Since Zortan's original question vampires have been added to the summon pet monster list, summon magehound exists and charm monster/command undead are far more useful (though this was toned down recently).

Playing summoners is not so hard any more.

BTW you can level far faster with pet monster than with golems, just get attunement and then use skeletons against lots of goblins, 1000's of xp/minute.
