When summon cult monsters is used while worshipping Gaea it will occasionally summon black puddings. This is fine except that when the puddings divide they start attacking you. This can cause you too have corroded armour, and die.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Please provide more information on what "server version" you encountered this on.

Is this a public server?
If so, which one?

If a private or local server - what release?

ex: 1.5.0 or CVS from day-month, etc.

Gaea is supposed to be able to provide you with slimes as a race, and blackpuddings are members of that race. I suppose the same problem would be there with any creature that multiplied. So should this be fixed? Not sure.
It would be easiest to remove the black pudding form the summon chart by adding a ! but should this be done - what about other creatures that multiply (actually puddings have 'splitting 1' while say mice have 'generate 1') is this a general problem or a specific one?

I had noticed this before, yes, every monster that splits or multiplies after beeing summoned generates a non pet monster, but i think that doesnt need to be fixed, cause after all, if you see some pet you dont want to multiply you can use "killpets" before it does, in fact i believe it can also be used (hopefully not abused) for your own good if you are smart enough.

BTW... it looks weird to me that summoning pets has such a long delay but summon cult monsters doesnt. Couldnt we choose some intermediate point? ;)

I think it would be a good idea to have summon monsters disable generation (multiplying).
Main reason - multiplying monsters can get out of hand in some places (world maps - cities...)
