The shopkeepers in Scorn

I've noticed that when you sell something in the store that specializes in whatever type of item you sold, especially when its identified, they give you much larger sums of money than seems reasonable, based on my character's estimation of value. Yes, it makes sense that they are willing to pay more for it, but they may just be going too far with generosity.
For example, when I sell an identified, normal, iron shield (the non-round one) in the Scorn armor shop, my character estimates its value to be several silver coins. When I sell it there, I received one gold coin and four silver coins for it.
Just as a note to put things in perspective: my character is level 9 with 4 Charisma (yes, 4, I'm not kidding here) and no bargaining skill.
This is occurring in versions as recent as 1.60.0-r18304M.
At the very least, I feel that outright UGLY characters (like mine) should be shafted by the shop a little more; I know Scorn's shops are friendlier than most, and the cost of identifying items needs to be counteracted somehow, but, considering my character's stats, I think that the shopkeeper is being a little too generous.
