How about making a petition system?
Like myself dont have much time to spend in crossfire these days
so would be great if players could send help requests or bug reports
to DM's even if theres none online
something like this:
/petition i am stuck inside a giant muffin,, help!
so a DM could read those help requests when he gets online and deal with them

Best policy for CF server admins would be to give their email address in the MOTD, so you can send your bug reports.
Best policy for CF players would be to send bug reports either on crossfire Mailing lists, or on the SourceForge Bug Tracker.
Note that an in-game Mailing system already exists (Imperial Post Office stuff), but requires server-side Python to run.

I never experienced that on the old server, but on the new metalforge server I was down in pupland raffle level 2, when level 1 got reset and locked all the doors.. I could not get out... Fortunately I created a dummy char which died like 5 times before I could kill off all those green thingies and open all the doors.. Not a big deal here, but sometimes you get stuck and cannot get out, due to a bug or a map reset.. Perhaps this /petition could be more than just an email to the DM.. Maybe it could be used somewhat like a "word of recall" to get you to area with a bed so you can save and leave, or to let you save and leave without a bed.. Of course I can see all the abuse that would happen (get equipment, petition, wait for map reset, get equipment)..
...so on second thought, never mind..

I don't see a need to prevent newbies from starving to death when they get stuck.
