Unlocked items form their own pile next to locked ones.


Say, for example, I lock my "silver coins" or "goblin livers" because I don't want to risk dropping them. If I then get new "silver coins" or "goblin livers", they will form their own unlocked pile in inventory, instead of merging with the locked pile.

Hello.

That's the intended behaviour :)

"Locked" and "unlock" are different states, thus different items, won't merge.


Client-side, those could indeed be merged, but then you'd need an indicator for "partially locked" state, and special handling when the player requests to drop more items than unlocked ones ("you need to unlock items").

I thought it used to be the case that locked items would merge.

If I lock my gold coins, it probably means I don't ever want to drop gold coins, including any I pick up in the future, not just those I have right then. Same for most items.
