Stuck in Brest

I have gone to Brest and can't get out now - I can see that others have had the same experience, at least a while back. Is there still no way out of there except through the icy passes?

I feel quite strongly that when it is that easy to get in to a map, it should either be almost as easy to get out again, or you should meet monsters at least as bad as the ones you'll meet on the way out, so you don't go in, go to bed and are stuck more or less forever. It is disheartening to say the least to have built up a character (in my case lvl 25) and then find that you have to throw it away - if that is the way it is, I think I'll just give up crossfire altogether, which would be a shame, as the game has improved a lot since last I played.

Or could somebody establish a permanent teleport or similar that you can use by paying - even a fairly high amount - eg 10000p - would be OK, at least then you would know that it is doable and that there is a concrete goal. I think the map is badly designed as it is in this respect - you can get in and get stuck as soon as you have a port pass, and I could certainly get through most of the maps (I even had a serious go at Jessy); so it is ridiculous that you have to be, what, lvl 60+ to get out.

Metalforge; isn't that the official one any more?

I used to play a good deal - I think it was almost 5 years ago, but got tired of never being able to advance beyond lvl 30 or so; it seems to be a lot more playable now.

I was curious about the server since if it was one of the public servers, I wondered why no other players offered to help.

One thing you could try is potions of cold resistance and potions of healing (I keep mine bound to a key).

I was under the impression that there was a dragon hangar someplace, but perhaps Brest does not have one.

There is a sure way out, although costly.

Purchase a Brest apartment, once inside, purchase a portal to Scorn. I'm not sure how much an apartment costs, but if I remember correctly, it was 10k diamonds for just the portal.

I would've helped get you out, but I haven't been able to play for awhile due to work and school.

While there may be other ways to get out, I do tend to agree with the orginal poster.

Getting out of someplace - at least a town or the like, should be roughly the same difficulty as getting in.

There are clearly exceptions - pits that drop you down may make it harder to get out of dungeon than it was to where you got that pit. But dungeons are a bit different than towns.

Perhaps also bad is that if the player knew getting out of Brest was hard, he could have used a word of recall scroll (which doesn't cost a lot of money) to get back to last savebed location - scorn or the like. But once he saved his character, he really became stuck.

Word of recall

I never go anywhere the first time without a word of recall scroll/staff/rod. While this is not much of a solution if you use a Bed Of Reality there, it is how I visit Brest without having to be a high-level.

Not saying some other transport options aren't warranted, but... Word of Recall is usually essential return insurance from most places.
