On Fri Nov 30 17:12:51 CST 2007, the metalforge server had a hard drive failure which took the server offline.
The failed drive was swapped out and now the RAID1 array is being rebuilt.
More details or status updates will be posted here as they become available.

Full backup is now complete.
The metalforge server is back online.
To clarify, no player data has or should have been lost. The impact of the dive failure is the same as a server crash; except it took about 3 hours for the server to come back online after the crash.
I did not relaunch the crossfire server until after the array was fully rebuilt and *after* taking a full backup of the server.
