is there any way to configure crossfire to run off something like a flash drive? or a download for a crossfire already made like that? i was looking into that today since i just started back at college, and decided to ask on the forums.

the computers will all run windows XP, so i was specifically looking for a GTK client like that :O

our college kind of frowns on installing apps on their computers XD and i dont got a laptop so im limited to the flash drive as to games :O crossfire is both small and interesting, so i'd love to be able to play it between classes at college XD

It might be possible... Google found this for me:

For Windows:
Convert and Make Applications Compliant and Run on U3 USB Flash Drive with PackageFactory for U3

MojoPac (PC on a stick) updates

For those looking for a Linux solution, it would seem that Damn Small Linux could work as well.

I haven't tested or used either of these; Proceed at your own risk. Results may vary -- similar disclaimers apply.

unfortuneately i dont have a U3 drive x.x is there any way to tell crossfire where the GTK files are stored without a registry entry? that seems to be the main thing missing in mine at the moment :O

Did you try simply putting the GTK .dll files in the same directory as Crossfire? That could do the trick.
