Image caching for the gtk1 client isn't working correctly in Windows.
If you turn on caching for the first time after starting the client but before connecting to a server, then caching will work correctly for that session. After that, in any subsequent session, the client will crash as soon as it tries to cache the first image.
If no previous caching had taken place when the crash occurs, the crossfire-images directory will not have been created.
