dragon guild and worshiping devourers

I recently started a fire hatchling character on the server i use, and was one day no longer able to enter the dragon guild to change my metabolism. It dawned on me sometime later than i had in the course of things switched gods to devourers, and so my race was changed to undead.
So i guess this is both a bug report and a question; is there nowhere else to get the metabolism changing residues 'easily' (ive never run into an ancient elemental)? If not, is this intended behavior (undead being denied access to the guild)? If it infact is, id like to ask wether it seems like a 'fair' penalty for worshiping devourers? Id imagine itd be worth while to consider its effects on other such race related logic in the game (aside from being suseptable to attacks that target undead characters). Im sorta green, so maybe im missing something, i don't know.

it is mostly a bug, but it is one that is quite complicated to fix (undead really needs to become a property, not a race). You seem to have found an interesting corner case where it actually matters though (normally it only has an effect in terms of how things like banishment work).

so, if you have an undead dragon, can you get slain by dragon slaying swords? that could be a bug too...

A dragon that has followed Devourers, is undead.
Unless I am overlooking something...
A weapon/spell/etc. that has the "slay ability" for dragons would no longer function against this character; they are undead.

thats defiantly a bug, cause a dragon is still a dragon, dead or not...

suggestion: start a second dragon char and give him the cash to buy an ancient element. And no, they are found nowhere else, only in the dragon guild

That's still fairly broken, I'm just not sure what the best solution that won't break on existing characters is (maybe changing the dragon guild to detect dragon abilities rather than race?)
In any case, undead status shouldn't be acting like this.

patch it such that undead is no longer a race but a setting (maybe except for undead players (wraits) and monsters) and modify all the existing players if necessary. That would fix it for once and forever, i think/hope

Probably switch them over to the new system with a script, if their old race can be determined. This can be done by checking for the modifications that each race has on player's statistics, or in the case of some races, their face/animation.
