Crossfire Forum

I've seen crossfire and it looks kinda cool. But i can't play! This is exactly what is says:
"This application as failed to start because python24.dll was not
found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

I already un installed it and tryed 3 times and it still won't work! Does any1 know the problem?

at a guess, I would say you are installing the server.

If you only want to play the game you need the client. Installation instructions are here: http://crossfire.real-time.com/clients/ ... html#howto

When you then run the client after installing it, a list of servers will appear, simply type the number of the one you want to connect to.

If having played with the client, you decide you want to run your own server, then you can find instructions to do that here: http://crossfire.real-time.com/server/w ... index.html

If you prefer having your own local server, you then have 2 solutions:
* install Python 2.4. You can find it at http://downloads.activestate.com/Active ... 2-ix86.msi (direct download link) or check from http://www.activestate.com
* don't install the Python plugin when you install the server, or remove the "share/plugins/plugin_python.dll" file
