First of all, when you are looking for help don't direct the request to a single person but everyone.. second, please don't write in caps because it's damn annoying.
Anyway, it should be ok if you create the directories/folders it needs (var/crossfire/players in *nix I think).

I tried it but I run on a windows XP and where should I put this??? in the server file??? I even put it in like you said var/crossfire/player but all it did was create another player file and it gave this error "can't open file for save" what does that mean... should I have the server file within the same file as the client???
Thanks for any help you can muster,
-Gene

Hi, just grabbed & installed server.
You need to make a subdir 'tmp' at the same level as 'share' and 'var'.
I had failures to save too, making it fixed
Hope this helps!

I don't know what else you might have done, but to me this sounds as if you hit the wrong button. Quit Character does what it says, it deletes your character. Bad idea for saving, isnt it? Apply a Bed to Reality and euit your client.

Finnaly got off my lazy ... and registered an account...
HOXU: The server says
PYTHON - triggerEvent:: eventcode 21
PYTHON - triggerEvent:: eventcode 20
make_path_tofile var/players/TEST/TEST.pl...
Can't open file for save <tmp/cftmp.634.1>
Ryo: I tried creating sub-folders within those two directories using the name "tmp" without the quotes and it didn't work. Thanks Though
mathwizard: Trust me I didn't hit the quit player command I even used the apply command from the menu to make sure but it still didn't work.
Cheers,
