Classes for a new player

I don't believe so... note that I have never tried myself since bows do not fit within my game style - lure many monsters close (needs a stupidly low ac), then zap them with icestorm/comet/banishment as appropriate (needs a high fire resistance too).

i did a dragon, so i decided to try an elf archer. but more bows would be nice, but not just more powerful bows. some bows that enchant arrows temporairly on fire would be cool though, like bow of fire shooting fire arrows, on top of whatever was already being shot. so if you enchant your bow with a fire and poison attack, and fire cold arrows, you could be almost as cool as a dragon...
