resistances above 100 should heal!
This would be awesome, resist fire +100 and wander into a roomful of dragons to let them heal you....
Resist depletion +lots should restore stats
Resist drain +lots should give xp -although maybe this should be a very low amount, or not to any skill (general xp only?)
Then the positive resistances above 100 could be useful.
Way to stop this being hideously unbalanced; have each resistance pair up against another fire and cold, electricity and water, depletion and magic, etc. Then have any resistances above 100% in 1 of these count as -2% in the other one.
To make this useful resistances of +100 woud need to count seperately (think now that +100% resistance is immunity, and resistances above that count as something else)
Eg,
fire resistances +100 +70 +10 -> total 177%
cold resistances +15 -> total 15 - 77*2 = -139%
(IE massively unbalancing)
