I'm sorry, but uncontrolled mana produces same effect, but much much less damage. You can survive at least 4 or 5 seconds in a cauldron blast, but 0.1 second in godly retribution.bort wrote:Does this apply to uncontrolled mana?
Uncontrolled Mana creates same results and damage.
Godly retribution again

besides, you can have resist_magic+99 with aid of some equipment. resistance to godly retribution is _at most_ 95%, and only temporaryAzriel wrote:I'm sorry, but uncontrolled mana produces same effect, but much much less damage. Why dont we turn down godly retribution damage then?

Bort.. we discussed tuning it down damage wise, but the real problem here is the fact that it repeatedly kills you, all high levels while we do hate dying, can accept dying once to a lousy thing like godly retribution, but few of us can take dying 83 times to a mere slipup of instead of using prayer for a spammed period of time, using remove curse instead.
I like cheese, do you like cheese?

Changes are on the agenda to address/reduce repeat deaths from godly retribution.
* Give player maxsp/grace (if better than their current total) on death. This should reduce the likelihood of causing retribution from buffered key strokes after you die.
* Put a cap on how long retribution (which is also used for some other failures, like alchemy) can last
* An immunity force is applied to a player if they die from retribution, this force does have a time limit and the force is applied once.
Meaning, retribution -> die -> force applied -> go to your save bed. If you have multiple spells queued up and the retribution hits again while on your save bed, you can die multiple times after that (or again).
NOTE: this code is NOT in CVS yet, therefore it's not available on any servers as of this posting.
As for retribution destroying items in your apartment.. well, just like using alchemy in your apartment and risking the backfire and summoning of an Evil Master (or worse..) use your Pockets of Reality for alchemy and item storage.

afaik your bed is damned... so no spells and no prayers. if you die in your app due to godly retribution, the force should protect you untill the retribution is gone. queued commands are ignored (unholy ground) so you wont die twice to the same queuleaf wrote: Meaning, retribution -> die -> force applied -> go to your save bed. The point is that god retrib is like firing a meteor swarm in your apt. The fireball persists. Same with the bad god power.

Biggest annoyance that unfortunately happens at times is when you die, turn up in your apartment, step of your save bed and then cast a spell in your apartment.Mith wrote:afaik your bed is damned... so no spells and no prayers. if you die in your app due to godly retribution, the force should protect you untill the retribution is gone. queued commands are ignored (unholy ground) so you wont die twice to the same queuleaf wrote: Meaning, retribution -> die -> force applied -> go to your save bed. But now looks like this might no longer be a problem depending on how long this invisible force lasts.
