Cave, what have you against xp ? You NEED xp to progress in cf. And you need $ too. uh, sorry, £ toocavesomething wrote:maybe it should be neccessary to die to enter them?
That would stop them being beneficial to xp

You want everyone to do quests, all quests, only quests. Try out a 'maps, you will see that it's not what people want, most are in raffle or /random.
You need to level up to do interesting quests, and most players want/use an easy way to do it. Should you prohibit it ?
Is it make xp but not money ? and of course, do not invite someone, he would think cf is a multiplayer gamebort wrote:They should not be able to use WoR or TP.

Valuable quests need a min level and the right equipment to do them. So, we need to have places to level up and make money, and shops to buy the necessary stuff. Don't ban random maps because you can't do quests players haunt instead.
ps : for the 'necessary stuff', if it could be found in (a) quest(s), it would be simplier.

Yes, but there is a limit to how much xp a player can acquire. Being able to reach level 100+ very easily is not a good thing, as it makes the time to build a character far to short.bencha wrote: Cave, what have you against xp ? You NEED xp to progress in cf.
Indeed, but likewise it should be rather hard to become very rich, otherwise money has no real value.bencha wrote: And you need $ too. uh, sorry, £ too.
Yes, but the concern is that they might be /too/ good, so that all other maps are much worse by comparison.bencha wrote: And the firsts levels of heaven is a good way to start both.
Yes, this is another problem with a 'good' map that causes all other maps to be excluded.bencha wrote: You want to ban all easy xp maps, and you end with a permanent squat in raffle1_u3, where you can't play raffle anymore.
I have considered previously looking at ways to make the raffle maps have a time limit, so that you would have maybe 5 minutes to get to the bottom and retrieve the raffle ticket, after that time, or when the ticket was collected, you would then be auto-teleported to the place where the raffle would commence. (likewise there would be appropriate limits for raffles 2 &3 - 25 and 50 minutes respectively might work, though I've never timed my efforts to complete them, it was probably at or less than that long)
Obviously then there would be a limit of something like one entry a day - a marker could achieve this.
Yes, the structure of the lowest floor isn't so clever, since it allows relative safety. - maybe removing the boulder would be the easiest approach?bencha wrote: You can find there lvl 25+ chars killing tons of hill giants for hours, these chars who should be in TC if they were still reachable.
Yes, this is an issue with the obviousness of quests. I'm currently working on a potential solution to this problem, expect to hear more on this in a couple of weeks or so.bencha wrote: You want everyone to do quests, all quests, only quests. there shouldn't be 'an' easy way, but rather a number of ways, none of which are clearly easier or harder than any other, but rather all different, and all interesting to explore, rather than exploit.bencha wrote: You need to level up to do interesting quests, and most players want/use an easy way to do it. No one said anything about /banning/ random maps, rather simply trying to ensure that they remain an /alternative/ option that might be taken, rather than the only that /is/ taken.bencha wrote: Valuable quests need a min level and the right equipment to do them.
