I saw a kid inhale acetylyn and helium, and try to blow fire.
He was quickly admonished for it. Why? More than a few people have had their lungs blown out. And FYI: when you inhale helium, you replace oxygen with the helium...

The helium takes up the area where O2 would normally use. Result == lesss oxygen to be abosrbed.Casper wrote:....bort wrote:And FYI: when you inhale helium, you replace oxygen with the helium...

Also, it has an odd effect on the epiglottis (little flap that helps keep you from inhaling chocolate cake). It paralyzes it, and thus can cause rapid death.bort wrote:The helium takes up the area where O2 would normally use.
