Learning CVS has not that much to do with having CVS access to a crossfire module, the rules for committing things to crossfire (indeed each module has different rules) have to be understood and demonstrated by packaging and submitting changes for a while. You can be a CVS guru but have no idea how we like to see our maps done - so you would be SOL. Giving out CVS access is like giving out the keys to your car (BTW I'm not the owner of the car so don't ask me). If you have a track record of submitting well tested and good stuff they way we like it then the grand poo-ba will give you CVS commit access. The best way to get stuff committed by developers who have access is to make it easy to evaluate and submit it to sourceforge patch tracker so it can be tracked and spoken for. Also really big things are easier to do in pieces. One other big problem with the big map sets sometimes is that they keep being changed and since they are one big set, you have to start over to evaluate them every time. Break up your submissions into smaller descrete pieces, include everything you need into one easy to grab package and they will get in much faster. Mlab will get in there but it has to be processed. I thought that there were some folks working on this but maybe they are not.
As for these new building styles - if they are submitted as a single tarball to sourceforge and can be quickly tested they will probably be quickly included just like the Navar changes were.

Be grateful.
You are not the only one making archetypes and maps, and pretty much constantly demonstrating to us why you should not have CVS access...

Remember you are the one asking to have these changes included which we will do based on the merit of the submission.

Go ahead take my access away, don't commit the chages.
They will always be on my server and available from my website.
I'm the one making the most archtypes. If you don't want CF to go forward fine.

You don't like it that I am anti women's rights.
Tell me... who else is making maps... I don't see anyone.
I work on CF daily.
Do you?
